America’s Silent Epidemic: A Heart Crisis You Can’t Ignore

⚠️ Every 34 seconds, someone in the U.S. has a heart attack.

Heart disease is the #1 cause of death among both men and women over the age of 40 in the United States.

📊 The Hard Truth:

  • More than 20.5 million Americans have coronary artery disease (CAD).
  • After age 40, the lifetime risk of developing cardiovascular disease is:
    • 2 in 3 men
    • More than 1 in 2 women
  • Most people don’t know they have it—until it’s too late.

What Is Coronary Artery Disease (CAD)?

CAD is caused by atherosclerosis—the “hardening” or “clogging” of the coronary arteries -that wrapped around the heart. It happens when fatty plaques build up on artery walls, reducing blood flow to the heart muscle.

💔 What Does It Feel Like?

Many experiences angina, or chest discomfort. It may feel like:

  • Pressure, tightness, or heaviness
  • Burning or fullness
  • Sometimes confused with indigestion

Other symptoms include:

  • Shortness of breath
  • Skipped or irregular heartbeats
  • Dizziness or fatigue
  • Sweating, nausea, weakness

Important: Some people—especially women—may have symptoms that are subtle or different from men. Many experience no warning signs at all.

"You may not feel it—but your heart might be struggling.”

Why It Matters

💡 If you are over 40 and have high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol, or a history of smoking or family heart disease, you may already have silent CAD.

🔍 What Can You Do?

Don’t wait for a heart attack. At EECP HEALTH, we offer non-invasive, proven therapy that improves blood flow and can help reduce angina and improve your quality of life—without surgery or medication.
