In 1993, Dr. Joe Caceres founded Buena Park Heart Center (BPHC).
In 2002, the American Heart Association and the American College of Cardiology issue guidelines on the treatment of angina, and the role of EECP therapy.
Dr. Caceres -an America’s Top Cardiologists awarded- pioneered the introduction of Enhanced External Counter Pulsation (EECP) in southern California and in 2007 the EECP program at BPHC was launched.
The first EECP symposium on refractory angina pectoris took place on October 29, 2014, in Anaheim, California. Dr. Rohit Arora, the principal investigator of the landmark randomized, multicenter clinical trial of EECP patients with stable angina pectoris was the keynote speaker.
